What's the weather like?

Check the current weather outlook from the Victoria airport, the Inner Harbour, or the University of Victoria. You can also check the radar image for the region or the marine forecast for the Strait of Juan de Fuca.

  • Victoria sees an average of 2,200 hours of sunshine and about 880mm (about 36 inches) of precipitation annually
  • The region boasts a 275-day frost-free season -- that's almost nine months!
  • Average winter day temperature of 5.5 degrees Celsius (42 degrees Fahrenheit),
  • Average summer day temperature is 16.1 degrees Celsius (61 degrees Fahrenheit)

Amateur astronomers can check on the Sky this Month from the Herzberg Institute of Astrophysics. They also have a nifty little sunrise and sunset calculator. If that's not enough, track down one of the fine folks at UVic's Dept. of Physics and Astronomy or from the RASC: Victoria Centre.
