Victoria Landmarks

The Empress Hotel is one of the most recognized buildings in Victoria. The main central portion was constructed in 1913. Captain Cook was one of the first Europeans to land on Vancouver Island. His statue faces the Empress Hotel, though many feel it should face out to sea.
